This LP of Doctor Schiwago was published the same year as the movie, 1966.
The film’s music is composed by Frenchman Maurice Jarre, a collaborator of the director. The music was recorded with the MGM Studio Orchestra of 110 musicians including 22 balalaika players.
Like the film, the soundtrack was a commercial success, and Maurice Jarre received an Oscar for the Lara’s Theme (the movie will receive 5 in total).
